About Our Company
Hagerty & Mack Excavation started as an idea by Kansas City-based heavy-equipment operator Michael Hagerty III. After years of running heavy equipment on developments throughout Kansas City, he decided his skills and experience could be put to work at a company under his own name. He teamed up with co-founder Alex Makoviecki, who leads sales and marketing, and Hagerty & Mack Excavation was born. Today, the licensed and insured company performs high-quality, high-integrity work for builders and developers across the Kansas City metro area.

Do you break rock?
Yes. Limestone and bedrock are common around Kansas City, and we break and remove them when they stop a dig. That includes rock in basement excavations, footings, utility trenches and pond basins. We can haul the broken rock off site too. If you already know there is rock on your lot, tell us when you call so we can plan for it.
How long does a basement dig take?
It depends on the size of the basement, the soil and whether we hit rock. Giving you a timeline typically begins once we have your grading plan and foundation plan. Yes. Hagerty & Mack Excavation is a licensed and insured excavation and grading contractor based in Shawnee, Kansas. We work on residential, custom home, production homebuilder and commercial projects across the Kansas City metro.
